A Beautiful Celebration of Spring, Friendship, and Community!
Yesterday, Sunday, May 17th, the First Presbyterian Church of Buffalo family gathered for a wonderful day of worship, reflection, and warm fellowship.
The morning began in our historic sanctuary with a powerful worship service. The chancel steps were beautifully adorned in vibrant red drapes and surrounded by candlelight, framing a striking banner with a message that resonates deeply with our mission: "Preach the Good News to All People." It set a perfect, reverent tone for the day.
Following the service, the Board of Deacons hosted our highly anticipated Spring Luncheon in the fellowship hall. After a long winter, walking through our courtyard gates—passed the gorgeous pink spring trees in full bloom—into a hall filled with friends, neighbors, and visitors was a true breath of fresh air.
Food, Fellowship, and Faith in Action
The luncheon was a beautiful celebration of friendship and community. Our tables were filled with delicious catered food, and true to First Pres tradition, our members went above and beyond with the dessert table! From beautifully frosted cupcakes and custom spring cookies to a delicious assortment of cakes and gluten-free treats, there was no shortage of sweetness to share.
More than just a great meal, yesterday was an opportunity to put our faith into action. Thanks to the incredible generosity of everyone who attended, our voluntary free-will donation basket raised vital support for Hearts for the Homeless, helping to share God's love and care with those in need right here in the Buffalo community.
A massive thank you to our wonderful Board of Deacons for organizing and catering such a flawless event, to everyone who brought a dessert to share, and to every member, visitor, and neighbor who made yesterday so full of joy.
We are so grateful for this community. If you missed yesterday's luncheon, we hope to see you in the pews—and at the fellowship tables—very soon!
